Mel Gibson sued by Stepmother
KARACHI: Mel Gibson is being sued for $65,000 by his stepmother Teddy Joye Hicks Gibson, claiming that he was responsible for her divorce from his father Hutton Gibson.
Teddy Gibson, who married the actor’s father in 2001, allegedly holds Mel Gibson responsible for the break-up with her spouse.
Hutton Gibson, who is 93 and is seriously ill, filed for divorce from his second wife after more than ten years of marriage.
Teddy Gibson has asked the judge to make the actor a party in her divorce and make him pay $65,000 to cover her legal expenses. She is also seeking the right to be allowed back into her marital home, which she claims the high-profile actor had kicked her out of. Teddy has requested $15,000 a month in spousal support from Hutton Gibson.
Earlier this month, she filed for a restraining order against the actor alleging that he was trying to sabotage her marriage.
Teddy Gibson claimed that Mel and his sister hold grudges against her for not approving medical treatments they have been urging her husband to undergo for his illnesses, and alleged that they manipulated their father into filing for divorce.
