KARACHI: Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone said that the only reason to visit holy places is to get peace of mind.
"I have only visited the place once. I had gone because I believe in worship and god. Whenever we go to such a place, it is not because we want to promote our film. We go there for peace," She said.
This was in response to Ajmer Dargah’s dewan, Syed Zain-ul-Abedin Ali Khan who previously stated, “Prayers by Actors, Directors, Producers and Musicians at this 12th century shrine for success of their films and TV serials are ‘intolerable’.”
Sources added that the custodian of the Shrine also said the use of a holy place in promoting and advertising commercial activities is wrong. Movie producers and directors should refrain from such acts that hurt religious sentiments.
Padukone further added that the only film she is currently working on is “Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani”.
