KARACHI: London is flooding with visitors from all around the globe as the date of Olympics closes in. Among the faces that have touched down the Heathrow airport is the Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan. The 69-year-old Bollywood legend seemed delighted with the forthcoming London Games.
“Olympics have reformed the entire airport here in London. There are only smiling faces and attendants on help mode at every yard almost. There is massive traffic, but also efficient management to not allow delays and human jams,” Bachchan wrote on his blog.
Bachchan also said that the Olympic committee should be thanking his arrival instead of weather gods for the bright sunshine.
“They say I have brought the sun along with me. They always do when the weather is good. A regret, when it is otherwise. Obsession with weather ... another British trait !,” he wrote.
Big B also wrote about his private memories and the pleasant time he had in the 1984 Olympics held in Los Angeles.
"For me ... just one Olympic, the one in Los Angeles. Opening closing ceremonies, holding up material given as you enter to hold up as a part of the designs that will appear when asked to do so, the whole business of badges and its exchange and collection. I still have a host of them from the 1984 in LA ..”
“But also alongside a quick flash of your own moments of pride and place during athletic meets at School - several track events won, and the cups and the victory stand and Mother proudly taking pictures of them. Those pictures of me on the podium on top of the numerical that said 1 ... still lying with me, along with my cups won. One look at them and you would wonder what happened to this athlete now ... ha ha ! Used a lot of that in my films ... with some reserve !!,” he wrote.
