KARACHI: After Golmaal 3 and Singham, Rohit Shetty’s Bol Bachchan has also been able to reach Rs. 100 crore mark at the domestic box office.
According to a press statement from the production company, Bol Bachchan collected Rs. 66.81 crore in the first week, Rs. 24.12 crore in second and Rs. 9.33 crore during the third week, accounting the total box office collections to Rs. 100.26 crore in 20 days.
For the success-party lead actors Ajay Devgan and Abhishek Bachchan are reportedly waiting for Amitabh Bachchan, who was recently involved in the torch relay ceremony of the London Olympics.
It is rumoured to be a twin celebration for the Bachchans, first for Abhishek’s astounding success at the box-office and second for BigB’s role in the Olympics.
Amitabh Bachchan will be back in India by August 5, and has reportedly sent a text message to his son saying that he wants to be a part of the BB celebrations and that both Ajay Devgan and Abhishek Bachchan should wait for him before getting into party mode.
Apart form all the good news, a petition against Bol Bachan has also been filed in a court. The petition objects to a scene showing actor Abhishek Bachchan bashing a lawyer in the very beginning of the film.
According to Manish Purohit, counsel for the petitioner Mahmood Khan, a scene of the film that illustrates Abhishek Bachchan beating up a lawyer, is offensive to Mahmood Khan and is insulting to the image and stature of lawyers and the profession of law.
