KARACHI: The parents of a stuntman, who lost his life while working on the film ‘The Expendables 2’, filed a wrongful death lawsuit against filmmakers.
The parents of stuntman Kun Liu claimed that filmmakers failed to take precautionary measures during a shoot-gone-wrong in Bulgaria.
The 26-year-old Liu was killed during a stunt in Bulgaria while performing in a rubber boat on Ognyanoyo reservoir. The scene involved the use of high powered explosives and other “ultra-hazardous activities.” He died after severe injuries from the explosion.
Liu’s parents Zong Yu Liu and Yan Mei Baj are seeking damages of more than $25,000 against the studio Millennium Films and film’s stunt coordinator Chad Stahelski.
The parents of Liu are suing for funeral and burial expenses as well as “the loss of society, love, comfort, attention, services and support” of their son. They claim their son lost his life due to negligence and carelessness of the filmmakers and Stahelski.
Stahelski and Millennium Films declined comment on the case.
