KARACHI: Mitt Romney Presidential Campaign in the United States branded the London Mayor Boris Johnson an 'eccentric, odd fellow' who was prejudiced in favor of Barack Obama.
According to media sources, the label led to exchange of words between Romney and Johnson over whether London was ready to host the Olympics.
Sources added that Romney expressed his doubts over security and transport chaos on which Johnson responded at a torch relay concert in Hyde Park, asking 60,000 people: “I hear there's a guy called Mitt Romney who wants to know whether we're ready, 'Are we ready? Yes we are!”
“Yes we can,” he added the slogan of Obama’s election campaign of 2008.
Sources added that despite the arguments, Romney was at the Opening Ceremony with his wife Ann. He and his wife were joined by Prime Minister David Cameron and his wife Samantha in the Royal Box before the £27m spectacle, which will open the 30th Summer Olympiad.
They were then joined in the classy seats by the Princess Royal, Games organizer Lord Coe and former Prime Minister Sir John Major.
