KARACHI: American rapper Snoop Dogg has been banned from entering Norway for two years after he tried to enter the country with eight grams of the drug marijuana in June.
His legal representative in Norway, Holger Hagesaeter, said the rapper has “no immediate
plans to appeal,” the ban and “can live with the decision.”
Snoop had arrived at Kjevik Airport on his way to appear at a music festival, but was
troubled when officials found the drugs.
Snoop Dogg’s real name is Calvin Broadus.
It is reported that he was also carrying more cash than is legally allowed in the country,
and fined the equivalent of $8,600 for his violations.
However, he was allowed to go on and perform at Norway's Hove Festival.
The 40-year-old star has a history of various convictions for marijuana possession.
The “Gin and Juice” rapper was previously barred from UK between 2007 and 2010, was dropped
from a concert in “The Netherlands” at short notice in 2007 after being deemed an unsuitable performer and has been into visa problems in Australia.
Earlier this year, Dogg was also arrested in Sierra Blanca, Texas after being stopped at a
Border Patrol checkpoint where marijuana was found in his tour bus.
