KARACHI: Rupert Sanders has been banned by wife Liberty Ross from working with Kristen Stewart ever again.
‘The Snow White and the Huntsman’ Director was lined up to return to the helm to direct the sequel of the film.
According to media reports, the 41-year-old filmmaker, who was caught kissing Stewart in a series of steamy photos last month, has been warned by his wife to stay away from ‘The Snow White and the Huntsman 2’ if he wants to save his wedlock.
“They are trying to work things out after he was caught having an affair, and that is one of the sticking points. She just doesn't want him to ever work with Kristen again.”
Sanders, who was earlier best known for directing award-wining, high-budget advertisements, is disappointed on this decision.
A source said, “Rupert is obviously disappointed because 'Snow White and the Huntsman' was his directorial debut, and he had hoped on building on that with a follow-up after some decent reviews.”
“But he knows his actions were inexcusable, and he's going to have to bite the bullet and listen to his wife on this one,” the same source added.
After the opening of his debut film, Rupert had gushed openly about the possibility of doing a sequel saying, “I’m actually ready to get back…I’ve got an interesting theme in mind, so we’ll see, adding. “If it’s right, we’ll do it, if it’s not, we wont.”
But, sources claim that studio Universal had not signed a formal agreement with Sanders and hence finding a new Director for the subsequent venture.
“When Rupert signed up for 'Snow White and the Huntsman', he didn't know he was going to get a chance to direct a sequel. His contract with Universal was only for one movie. It was a verbal agreement that he was to take the reigns on the sequel, nothing was ever signed.”
On the other hand, Stewart, the film’s lead, who has an established status in Hollywood cemented by her ‘Twilight’ films, will reportedly get preference over Hollywood’s newly-arriving Director Sanders.
“Kristen, as the film's lead, will get preference over Rupert and Universal will just find another director.”
