ISLAMABAD; Federal Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Dr.Babar Awan said on Tuesday that there was no space for adventurism in the country and the public was the best judge for accountability.
Talking to newsmen after meeting a Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) delegation at his residence, Awan said that those who wanted early elections should partake in the Senate and local bodies' elections.
The national issues could be resolved through talks not by dictations, so every political party should also listen to other point of views, he advised.
Awan said the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) was being reconstituted in accordance with the 18th Amendment and the government was making amendments to election laws to make the process transparent.
Commenting on the current political situation, he said that the PPP-led government had introduced a new political culture in the country and there were no political prisoners in Pakistan.
The Minister said that PPP wanted to take forward country on prosperous way with the help of other political parties for which politics of reconciliation was compulsory.
Aswering a query, he said that in December 2012 caretaker Government would be set up , adding that there is no provision for mid-term or short-term elections in the constitution.
Leader of Jamat-i-Islami (JI) Hafiz Salman addressing the press conference said that the government would complete its tenure.
