KARACHI: The R&B singer filed court documents on July 27 to end his marriage of 11 years with fashion designer Kai Millard Morris.
The 62-year-old musician cites irreconcilable differences in papers filed Friday in Los Angeles Superior Court. He filed the documents under his real name, Stevland Morris.
The soul singer were married Sept. 1, 2001, the couple has been legally separated since October 2009. Born Stevland Hardaway Morris, Wonder is represented by attorney Laura Wasser, who’s previously handled proceedings for several celebrity clients such as Maria Shriver, Kim Kardashian and the former Ms. Kobe Bryant all in 2011. According to TMZ, he cited irreconcilable differences and authorized the divorce papers by stamping his two fingerprints.
They have two sons, 10-year-old Kailand and 7-year-old Mandla. Wonder is seeking joint legal and physical custody of the two boys and agrees to pay spousal support to his former wife.
