Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga cheer Olympians
KARACHI: Olympic gold medalists are apparently garnering significant support and cheers from music stars Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga.
Showing his support for team Canada, Bieber had earlier tweeted to Canadian gymnast Dominique Pegg writing, “Sorry I'm late 2 the party. Want to let you know as a proud Canadian I'm always supporting you and proud of you. STAND UP CANADA! :).”
In reply the Canadian gymnast responded, “OMG thank you so much for tweeting me!! Thank you for teaching me to never give up on my dreams! #lookatusnow! #believe!”
Pegg also got a few re-tweets from Bieber and has reportedly also scored tickets to his ‘Believe’ tour.
After winning gold medal, US women’s gymnastics team also received messages of congratulations when a team member Jordyn Wieber tweeted, “Now that we are OLYMPIC champions … Can we please meet @justinbieber??”
To her message Bieber replied, “@jordyn_wieber u support me i support u. congrats… #DREAMBIG.”
He later tweeted to the entire team writing, “CONGRATS…on your GOLD MEDAL #BeliebersWinGOLD #Proud.”
Lady Gaga also cheered the US team on winning gold medal writing, “Woohoo! Gold for the ladies! just want to squeeze them! So much talent and beauty. Did u seem all holding hands? There’s no “I” in team.”
Lady Gaga had earlier tweeted about Summer Olympics 2012 writing, "The Olympics is the best ever. But I went through a whole pack of tissues last night. Watching hard working athletes achieve their dreams."
