KARACHI: Lena Henderson and Roland Davis first fell in love as teenagers, and got married in their teens. They divorced for 48 years ago and now tying the knot for the second time.
The 85-year-old couple had five children together.
The two said their split was amicable.
Davis was receptive, especially to the idea of reconnecting with former wife.
“I always thought it might happen,” Davis, a military vet told the media.
“It was always in the back of my mind. We’re just thankful that we could get back together,” he said.
When Davis’s second wife passed away six months ago, his daughter gave him a little push to contact his former wife.
“I think we just kept thinking about each other all the time, even though we were so far apart,” said Henderson, a widow after her second marriage.
The wedding is said to be attended by their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
