KARACHI: American judoka Nick Delpopolo has been kicked out from London Games for testing positive for tetrahydrocannabinol (THC).
THC is a chemical that is found in a drug marijuana and hash.
According to media sources, after the incident, Delpopolo blamed the positive test on an accidental consumption of food. He said, “I did not realize had been baked with marijuana."
Delpopolo, who competed in the 73 kg weight class, is hoping for another chance said, “"I look forward to representing my country in the future, and will rededicate myself to being the best judo athlete that I can be."
Sources added that all the certifications of Delpopolo have been cancelled by International Olympic Committee and committee has asked from judo federation to take further action.
