KARACHI: The Spice Girls reunited yesterday to rehearse their routine for the Olympics closing ceremony. Their show will take place as the London 2012 Games come to an end on Sunday.
Victoria Beckham was in head-to-toe black to belt it out alongside her former bandmates Melanie Brown, Melanie Chisholm, Emma Bunton, and Geri Halliwell. It seems their portion of the show will have a very British theme, as the Girls were seen singing atop black cabs at the Ford factory in East London.
Mel B, Mel C, Emma, Geri and Victoria will make their big entrance balanced on traditional black London cabs, with a difference. Each taxi appears to be covered in diamonds. The girls also have heaps of suited, sexy male dancers in attendance.
Victoria Beckham will have a turn to participate in the Games after her husband helped kick things off in the opening ceremony. David Beckham drove a speedboat carrying the Olympic flame up to the East London site of the Games on Friday, July 27.
The media and social networks have been abuzz with speculation and fresh names are popping up to join the ultimate British playlist, which is being helmed by music director David Arnold.
It's simply thrilling that the girls have decided to get together for this important British event especially seeing as how they represented the country in the '90s - most memorably when Geri donned her Union Jack dress at the 1997 Brit Awards. Mel C previously stated that she'd be 'upset' if they weren't involved in the Olympics given their influence.
Other musicians snapped coming and going at the rehearsal space include Brian May of Queen, the Pet Shop Boys and George Michael.
