Pak-independenceQUETTA: A grand festival in connection with the Independence Day celebrations was organized at Garrison Sports Complex under the aegis of Pak Army here on Monday.

Chief Justice Balochistan High Court Qazi Faez Esa was the chief guest while Commander Southern Command Lieutenant General Mohammad Alam Khattak, Speaker Balochistan Assembly Mohammad Aslam Bhootani, Finance Minister Asim Kurd Gailu, Sports Minister Shahnawaz Marri and IGFC Major General Obaidullah Khan Khattak were prominent among others who attended the ceremony.

Provincial departments, Army and NGOs had set up stalls with the beautiful display of the charts banners, booklets and other stuff depicting the unique culture of the Balochistan.

The ceremony begun with the national anthem followed by the aviation flight past national songs, debates and tablus presented by the students of the different school of the province.

Addressing at the gathering, Chief Justice Qazi Esa underlined the need for celebrating the Independence Day with national zeal and fervor. There is no substitute of independence which was acquired by the nation after the long and hectic struggle of our ancestors, he said adding Balochistan is a soul of Pakistan and the patriotism of the people of the province is beyond question.

Earlier, prizes were distributed to the winners of the completion among the students.
