KARACHI: American artistic gymnast Gabby Douglas, whose hair became one of the trending topics during the Olympic Games, bowed to the pressure triggered by her critics, reaching out to a celebrity hairstylist to do her tresses.
In an attempt to quieten her critics, the teen star has booked an appointment with renowned celebrity stylist Ted Gibson.
Gibson has previously worked with Angelina Jolie, Anne Hathaway, and Ashley Greene. He has also provided services to Jolie’s seven-year-old daughter Zahara, who was born in Ethiopia and adopted by Hollywood couple Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt in 2005.
Gibson admitted that styling Douglas will be challenging saying “It's tricky because Gabby is 16 and I don't want to do anything to make her look 25 years old.”
“I hope to create something that makes her feel good about herself as well. That's so important and a big part of what I do for all the women I work with,” he added.
He further pronounced the criticism over Douglas' locks 'shameful’, saying, “I couldn't believe it and still can't. You have this young girl doing amazing things, and the conversation becomes about her hair? It was ridiculous and shameful.”
