KARACHI: Hollywood actor Tom Hanks has signed up to produce a new film about the events which lead to the assassination of former US President John F. Kennedy.
The 56-year-old star will team up with ‘That Thing You Do!’ producer Gary Goetzman.
The duo is said to document the events when Kennedy was shot dead in Texas by Lee Harvey
Oswald on 22 November, 1963.
The project has been reportedly named ‘Parkland’, in reference to Dallas medical centre Parkland Memorial Hospital, where the leader was officially pronounced dead.
The film is said to have an ensemble cast to examine how the historic day played out in the
eyes of a reporter, a young doctor, the politician’s staff and his wife Jackie Kennedy.
No release date for the film has been announced yet.
