ISLAMABAD: British High Commissioner to Pakistan Mr Adam Thomson has wished a very happy and peaceful Eid ul Fitr.
On the occasion of Eid ul Fitr, the British High Commissioner Adam Thomson said in his message, I am delighted to send my best wishes to everyone celebrating Eid-ul-Fitr in Pakistan, to those celebrating in Britain and across the world.
This is my third Eid-ul-Fitr in Pakistan and I look forward to joining my Pakistani colleagues and friends to celebrate this happy occasion.
As in Pakistan, British Muslims will also be enjoying their Eid celebrations. Whether it be on the streets of Lahore or Leicester, Muzaffarabad or Manchester, Sindh or Southall, families will come together, sharing delicious Sawayyan and exchanging Eidi.
Eid-ul-Fitr is a joyous occasion and a day of gratitude for the blessings we enjoy. As the monsoon season continues, with unpredictable weather affecting millions of people across Pakistan, Eid also allows us to reflect on the lessons of giving, charity and tolerance.
These shared values are reflected in the generosity that Muslims all over the world including the generous diaspora Pakistani community in Britain have shown over the years. Eid-ul-Fitr is a festival that we can all learn from.
I wish you all a very happy and peaceful Eid ul Fitr.ìEid Mubarak!",he added in his message.
