KARACHI: A new strategic plan of education is formulated for the province. This was stressed by the Sindh Chief Minister, Syed Qaim Ali Shah, an official statement said on Saturday.
It said that he underlined the need to formulate new Education strategic plan for Sindh is keeping in view the requirement of educational institutions, needs of buildings for schools, colleges and other higher education centres.
Qaim Ali Shah was presiding over a high level meeting to review the progress of Annual Development Programme for the year 2010-2011.
He was of the view that the new education plan would consolidate and strengthen the present education system with strategy to utilize available but closed schools and institutions.
Chief Minister Sindh added that efforts be made to propose and highlight those schemes which are to be taken and completed within one year period/ADP.
He was of the view that only those approved schemes be included/ reflected in the budget books. In this regards Qaim Ali Shah formed a committee which will collect schemes from MPAs etc and will scrutinize and finalize the same well before publication of budget books.
Chief Minister said that some specific and comprehensive projects be proposed and completed in next ADP-2011-2012, for which a joint meeting of Planning and Development Department and Finance Department with other relevant departments be held immediately and proposals to this effect be finalized within one week.
He said that prioritization of schemes be earmarked and finalized, while during current financial year, on going schemes be completed within stipulated time.
Qaim Ali Shah added that funds for all schemes be released by Finance Department within stipulated time.
He directed P&D Department to prepare the strategic guidelines for all MPAs so that they should sent their schemes well in time.
