ISLAMABAD: The Federal Flood Commission (FFC) on Saturday said presently Indus River was flowing in Low Flood in Guddu-Sukkur reach while all other main rivers Jhelum, Chenab, Ravi and Sutlej were flowing normal.
According to daily FFC report issued here, the reservoir elevations indicates that Tarbela Dam has attained its Maximum Conservation Level of 1550.00 feet since September 12 whereas, Mangla Dam is at elevation of 1194.75 feet, which is 47.25 feet below its Maximum Conservation Level of 1242.00 feet.
The Dam Regulation Authority of Tarbela Dam Project is advised to take utmost care and vigilance in operation and strictly follow Standard Operating Procedures and safety guidelines.
The combined live storage position of Tarbela, Chasma and Mangla reservoirs is 10.848 MAF as compared to last year's 11.907 MAF.
According to Flood Forecasting Division (FFD), Lahore, yesterday's trough of Westerly Wave still persists over Northern parts of the country. Monsoon current is penetrating into upper parts of the country upto 4000 feet.
As predicated by the Flood Forecasting Division (FFD), Lahore, scattered thunderstorm/rain is expected over Khyber Pakhutnkhwa, Kashmir, Northern and Northeastern Punjab (Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Gujranwala and Lahore Divisions) and Gilgit-Baltistan including upper catchments of Rivers Indus, Jhelum, Chenab, Ravi and Sutlej during the next 24 hours.
Isolated thunderstorm/rain may also occur over Southern Punjab (Bahawalpur Division), Southern Sindh and Northeastern Balochistan during the same period.
Significant rainfall events as reported by FFD, Lahore during the past 24 hours include: Lahore (Shahdara 72mm, Misri Shah 54mm, Shahi Qilla 36mm, Airport 29mm, Upper Mall 13mm, City (11mm) Ravi Syphon 62mm, Pattan 51mm, Kotnaina 36mm, Lower Dir 35mm, Domel and Chakwal 27mm each, Jassar 23mm,Muzaffarabad 22mm, G.S Wala 19mm, Besham 18mm, Sialkot (Cantt 17mm and Airport 8mm) Saidu Sharif 16mm, Gujranwala and Balakaot 14mm each, Oghi 12mm,Alexandra Bridge and Mianwali 11mm each, Daggar and Dir 10mm each, NoorpurThal 8mm, Joharabad and Mandi Bahauddin 7mm each, Mirkhani 6mm and Mangla 5 mm.
