OSLO: Norway gas exports to Europe gained by almost 10 percent to 105 billion cubic metres (bcm) during the gas year 2011/2012 that ended on Oct. 1, the gas system operator Gassco said on Monday.
"It's quite a big increase in transported volumes compared to the previous gas year, but we can't comment on the reasons," Gassco spokesman Kjell Larsen told Reuters.
In the gas year 2010/2011, Norway exports totalled 95.7 bcm, only a slight increase from 95.4 bcm in gas year 2009/2010, data provided by Gassco showed.
Norway is the second-largest gas supplier to Europe after Russia.
