ISLAMABAD: Cold spell continues across the country with snowfall that began yesterday is currently underway in Upper Areas of the country.
According to the Metreological Department, most Southern Punjab areas including Multan, Khanewal, Vehari and Lodhran are blanketed by thick fog; however, yesterday's showers help decrease the intensity of the freezing fog.
Meantime, Motorway Police issued special directives to those plying on Highways keeping in view the potential risk of accidents blamed mainly on low-visibility.
District Astore is intermittently receiving showers for last 12 hours now,spurring the acuteness of weather conditions. Piles of snow flakes on roads have caused to cut off Upper Areas from District Headquarter Astore.
Meantime, the spell of snowfall began in Azad Kashmir areas of Lipah, Neelam Valley and Sadhan Galli with light scattered rain in Upper Areas.
