PESHAWAR: Pakistan Flour Mills Association (PFMA) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has reiterated demand for cut in the issuing price of wheat for flour mills of the province, saying the issuance price of the commodity is higher than other provinces of the country.
The demand was made in a meeting of the association held here with provincial chairman, Mohammad Naeem Butt in the chair.
The meeting said that the government of Punjab is going to cut the price of wheat and urged the provincial government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to go for decrease in the issuance price of the commodity.
The participants of the meeting said that terrorism had wrecked the industry resulting in increase in unemployment in the province. The meeting constituted a delegation for taking up the matter with the high-ups of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government.
The meeting also called for the restoration of the wheat quota of flour mills, saying that the provincial government has huge stock of the commodity, which should be released to mills with immediate effect.
The flour millers also expressed concern on terrorist attack on Babu Flour Mills, Sheikhan and called for payment of compensation to the management of the mill.
