ISLAMABAD: Leader of the Opposition in National Assembly Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan on Wednesday expressed his reservations on the new Accountability Bill and urged the parliamentary groups to support PML-N's stance on the bill.
Talking to media persons outside the Parliament House, Nisar asked the Muttahida Qaumi Movement, Awami National Party and Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) parliamentarians to oppose the bill.
He said that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) had proposed 58 amendments in the Accountability Bill, which was also discussed in the relevant standing committee for three and a half years. The proposals, were, however, not considered by the government, which tabled altogether a different bill in the National Assembly last day.
Earlier the opposition leader condemned the murderous attack on Malala Yousufzai and prayed for her early recovery. He urged the government to punish the culprits.
