ISLAMABAD: Minister for Interior, Rehman Malik on Thursday said the health of Malala Yousafzai is improving as she was being provided the best medical facilities in United Kingdom (UK).
He was talking to Ziauddin Yousafzai, father of Malala and her other family members, who called on the Minister here. Malala received critical injuries in a terrorist attack weeks ago.
He said on the directions of President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister, Raja Pervez Ashraf, Malala was being treated in Britain.
He thanked the British government, leadership of United Arab Emirates (UAE) particularly Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zaid Alnahyan, Chief of Army Staff, Gen. Ashfaq Pervez Kiani for their efforts and cooperation to ensure the best medical treatment of Malala in UK.
Rehman Malik said government of Pakistan was bearing all expenses being incurred on Malala's treatment abroad.
The Minister said he is in constant contact with British doctors to have updates on Malala's health improvement.
Rehman Malik termed the attack on Malala as on Pakistan and said war against terrorism would continue until the future of each and every child is secured.
Father of Malala thanked President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister, Raja Pervez Ashraf, Minister for Interior, Rehman Malik and Chief of Army Staff, Gen. Ashfaq Pervez Kiani for ensuring best medical facilities of his daughter.
