ISLAMABAD: Economic expert and head of the Economic department, Institute of Business Management, Dr Shahida Wizarat said on Monday that in the year 2011 hopes can be pinned to bring economic stability provided all decisions be implemented.
Talking to a private TV channel, Shahida Wizarat said different decisions regarding Reformed GST, petrol and gas prices and IMF's conditionalities were not successful due to inadequacies in its implementation.
She said past year was full of diverse problems such as socio- economic, political, military, and menace of terrorism which created so much economic depression.
Shahida said there is hope for many positive changes and expectations in the year ahead that it will bring obvious changes.
She said we are already facing problems of inflationary pressure, petrol and gas price hike, failure of Reformed GST etc.
She added there is need of collective efforts to discourage those forces which are slowing down the economic process rapidly.
She said the IMF borrowings have already increased economic pressure on us and that is why we are not capable of paying good to the public and issues like unemployment, poverty and economic dependence are still existing.
She said that all the persisting economic problems can be resolved provided we do depend our own capabilities and decisions as like the cases of some other countries.
