LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader, Hamid Khan has said that holding successful intra-party election at union council level in Islamabad was a new chapter in history of the country. Addressing a press conference here on Monday, he said that more than 62,500 members exercised their right to vote to elect around 500 party leaders in the federal capital.
It was first time that modern gadgets and information technology were introducted to cast votes in the intra-party election which help pave way for transparent system.
Speaking on the occasion, Sahfqat Mahmhood, central Information secretary Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf said that the PTI had conducted election in real sense in the party which was a big task.
A new political culture has emerged due to successful intra-party election which would pave way for change in the country, he added.
