KARACHI: Activists are calling for US rapper P. Diddy to push for safe working environments for garment factory workers after it was revealed that his clothing line was produced in the Bangladeshi factory which caught fire a few weeks ago killing hundreds of workers.

News sources were informed by the director of Bangladesh Center of Worker Solidarity that they have found clothing articles from ENYCE (P. Diddy’s Label) and requested him to use his influence to provide better conditions for factory workers.

German retailer KiK also came under spotlight when a similar kind of fire erupted in a factory in Pakistan and agreed with compensation to the victims of more than $1.2 million.

In addition, Walmart acknowledged that some of their products were made at the particular factory owned by the Tazreen group. However, their order was sub-contracted by the supplier which was against the policy and Wallmart subsequently terminated the contract with the supplier.
