KARACHI: Bollywood actors Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor, who were recently married, refused to comment on their religious status before the wedding.
But according to Indian media, Sharmila Tagore (Saif’s mother) has finally revealed that no religious conversions took place during their wedding.
A rumor was being speculated before that a Nikaah ceremony was performed and before that Kareena had converted to Islam. There were also rumors that Kareena was spotted wearing the traditional Muslim sharara of her mother-in-law, reported the media.
So when Sharmila Tagore confirmed that there were “no conversions, all the fueled gossips and news were proven false,” sources said.
Saif and Kareena were in a live-in relationship for the past five years and finally married on October 16.
This is Khan’s second marriage. He was previously married to actress Amrita Singh from 1991 to 2004, having two children (son Ibrahim Ali Khan and daughter Sara Ali Khan).
