LAHORE: The Lahore High Court on Thursday issued notice to Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) for December 18 on an application against afresh prices of LPG.
The single bench comprising Justice Ijaz ul Ahsan passed the orders on a civil miscellaneous application filed by Petroleum Gas company and three others in a pending matter against LPG Policy 2012.
Earlier, the petitioner's counsel arguing before the court submitted that the respondent's council undertook before the court that OGRA did not intend to fix afresh prices of LPG, on November 26, 2012, during hearing of case against LPG policy.
However, the OGRA violated its commitment and issued a notification dated December 8, 2012 for reduction of LPG prices, the counsel added.
He said the step was taken without consulting the marketing companies and it amounts to civil contempt.
He prayed the court to set aside the notification dated December 8 for reduction of LPG prices.
The court after hearing arguments issued notice to OGRA for December 18.
