A. R. Rahman's latest single after 15 years
WASIM KARIM
KARACHI: India's Grammy Award-winning composer A.R. Rahman is all set to release his solo single, after almost 15 years as reported by Indian media sources.
As conspiracy theories do the rounds of the impending 'Mayan apocalypse' expected on December 21, the composer has decided to make a comeback with an "optimistic message" through his song themed around love, hope and joy.
Rahman's last album "Vande Mataram" was released in 1997. After that, he composed background scores for various big blockbusters including Oscar-winning film "Slumdog Millionare", "Rockstar" and recently for "Jab Tak Hai Jaan".
The composer has partnered with Reliance Industries' Owner Mukesh Ambani and his wife Nita for the upcoming project.
The album is still untitled and is likely to be released sometime within the next week.
