KARACHI: According to the latest reports the Los Angeles premiere of Django Unchained set for this Tuesday, has been cancelled by Producers the Weinstein Company.
A statement was issued to foreign media sources saying the cancellation of the much-awaited event was to honor the victims of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in Connecticut.
The premiere was supposed to kick-off at a red carpet event followed by an after-party, however now it has been decided there will be a private screening for the cast and crew and their close friends and family only, with no media coverage.
The movie has already bagged numerous nominations at the Golden Globes and stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Jamie Fox and Christopher Waltz.
