KARACHI: Sharmila Faruqui, Special Assistant to Chief Minister Sindh on Media Affairs and Auqaf, on Sunday sought collective efforts for promotion of special children's cause in the country.
"Special children are part and parcel of the society and they are second to none in talent," she said as a chief guest here at the award distribution ceremony organized by Darul Sukun.
They just need proper attention and facilities that could assist them to use their capabilities, said the Advisor.
She said Sindh Governemnt has taken many steps to provide better opportunities to special people.
The advisor suggested for mandatory provision of ramps in all buildings and commercial areas to facilitate the special people.
"As a civilized society it was our prime duty to take care of special people," said Sharmila Farooqui.
She said that the governemnt had allocated two percent quota in governemnt jobs for disabled people and it was strictly being followed.
The Advisor to Sindh CM also expressed her pleasure to be among the Special Children and reiterated that it was collective responsibility of all stake holders to come forward and support the noble cause.
She said special children must atleast be extended equal attention as given to other children.
"Factually since they have some issues so they also need more of our attention," said Sharmila Farooqui.
