KARACHI: India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni's inclusion in the 3rd and final One-day International (ODI) seems doubtful, the media reported on Saturday.
According to reports, Dhoni will pobably sit out the 3rd ODI due to a back problem.
Certain quarters claim that the Indian captain should take a break from the Twenty20 (T20) captaincy and reflect on his game.
Dhoni's leadership has come under scrutiny after another series defeat against Pakistan following their first Test series loss to England at home in 28
years.
Pakistan drubbed the hosts by 85 runs in the second ODI in Kolkata to take a 2-0 lead in the three-match series.
India batting and bowling did not seem to be the same as before possibly due to too much cricket.
Dhoni blamed the disappointing batting performance against the tourists putting the onus on seniors who failed batsmen for not being able to cope with the pressure to consolidate the innings.
Former India captain Kapil Dev, who led India to its first World Cup win in 1983, feels that the players are lacking focus after winning the 2011 World Cup
and are putting their self-interest ahead of the team.
“After the World Cup win, I feel they have lost focus. I think all the players are self-involved,” he observed.
The third and final ODI will be played at the Feroz Shah Kotla in Delhi on Sunday. Let's see what Dhoni' men will do. May the better team win.
