Analysts expect Canada's employment report on Friday to show the economy shed 175,000 jobs in April as restrictions were tightened in some provinces to contain the coronavirus pandemic.
According to the statement, 559 orders on various imports are currently in effect to "provide relief to American companies and industries impacted by unfair trade."
Specifically, the Japanese materials maker plans to sell its aluminum rolled products business for electronic components as well as the aluminum can business.
The transaction is due to close by June, it said, without citing sources.
