Under the Integrated Social Protection Development Program, ADB will provide a regular loan of $600 million and a $3 million grant from the Asian Development Fund
In his address, the Prime Minister congratulated Dr. Sania Nishtar and her entire Ehsaas team, after the World Bank recently acknowledged the Ehsaas program as the fourth largest social protection intervention globally in terms of the number of people covered during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“This investment supports Ehsaas in developing an adaptive social protection system that is more efficient and offers a new model for crisis-response and increasing household resilience to future shocks.”
The Governance Observatory was established in June 2020 to monitor adherence to the Ehsaas Governance and Integrity Policy, which was approved by the cabinet in November 2019.
“From Monday onwards, the central bank will initiate a new payment system called ‘Rast’, as we believe this a right way forward for the country,” said Kamil.
Kamil informed that the upcoming payment system has been implemented in advanced countries i.e. UK and Australia.
