NCEMA says on Twitter that passengers travelling from countries where flights had been suspended would be able to transit through its airports from Thursday as long as they present negative PCR tests taken 72 hours prior to departure
Airlines in the UAE, which established diplomatic relations with Israel last year, have only in the past few months launched regular services to Israel.
Abu Dhabi's Etihad has suspended all passenger and cargo services to Tel Aviv from Sunday, it said on its website, citing the conflict.
The move would leave the Seychelles government as the sole shareholder of Air Seychelles as the Abu Dhabi carrier further unwinds its failed strategy of investing in other airlines.
"It's been formalised as we speak. It's happening right now," said Althius, a former Etihad executive, during an online event by aviation consultancy CAPA.
It is pertinent to mention that Abu Dhabi added Israel to its ‘green list’ on Monday, under which passengers arriving from Israel will be exempt from mandatory quarantine measures after landing in Abu Dhabi and will only be required to undergo PCR testing.
Most Etihad pilots and cabin crew have received both doses, she said without disclosing precise numbers.
The airline has been offering staff a vaccine developed by China's Sinopharm, which is also available to the general public in the United Arab Emirates.
Customers for the 777X include Emirates, Qatar Airways, Etihad Airways, British Airways, Cathay Pacific Airways Ltd , Singapore Airlines Ltd, ANA Holdings Inc and Lufthansa.
