The CSE All-Share Index rose 0.26% to end at 7,161.77. It has climbed 5.72% this year.
Conglomerate John Keells Holding and food retailer Cargills (Ceylon) Plc were among the top boosts to the index, gaining 1.30% and 3.77%, respectively.=
Conglomerate Browns Investments Plc and finance and leasing company L B Finance Plc were the top boosts to the index, gaining 3.4% and 7%, respectively.
Trading volume rose to 169.2 million from 150.6 million in the previous session.
The CSE All-Share Index ended down 0.18% at 7,115.12.
Diversified holding company Expolanka Holdings Plc and cigarette maker Ceylon Tobacco Company Plc were the top drags on the index, shedding 1.3% and 0.5%, respectively.
The CSE All-Share Index ended up 0.43% at 7,127.69.
Insurance underwriter Ceylinco Insurance Plc and conglomerate Expolanka Holdings Plc were the top boosts to the index, gaining 7.7% and 2.5%, respectively.
The CSE All-Share Index closed down 1.1% at 6,854.32 and closed 5.42% lower for the week.
Among individual stock moves, financial services conglomerate LOLC and Browns Investments were the top drags on the CSE All-Share index, falling 4.1% each.
The blue-chip NSE Nifty 50 index ended up 1.28% at 14,744 and the benchmark S&P BSE Sensex rose 1.3% to 49,858.24. Earlier in the session, the Sensex and Nifty shed up to 1.43% and 1.28%, respectively.
Sentiments in the short-term, however, are weak due to a rise in COVID-19 cases and volatility in bond yields, Sharma said.
