The regulator however maintained a $400/tonne premium known as the living income differential (LID) that was introduced this season to boost farmers' incomes.
A bumper crop and weak global demand caused by the pandemic, coupled with the introduction of the LID, left piles of unsold beans in warehouses in Ivory Coast.
The agricultural commodities exchange will provide a price benchmark that serves as a basis for negotiating national and international commercial contracts.
The exchange also expects to eventually list natural rubber and palm oil, but has not indicated any plans for Ivory Coast's top export, cocoa, which is traded on international markets.
About 25,000 tonnes of beans were delivered to the Abidjan port and 26,000 tonnes to the San Pedro port between February 1 to February 7 for a total of 51,000 tonnes down from 57,000 tonnes during the same week last season.
Farmers said good moisture content in the soil had helped plenty of small pods develop on trees - a strong start for the April mid-crop compared with the same period last year.
"Without upkeep of the plantations, production could fall," said Albert N'Zue, who farms near Daloa.
