Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah on Sunday said that the wheat flour bags of 10-kg, each at Rs 10 per kg were being provided from the 284 centers set up by the government at different places in city, under the Ramazan package here.
He was addressing a meeting of Sindh Cabinet ministers and provincial advisors held at CM House here. Flux of the people, especially the poor ones were witnessed at these centers to get flour, Sindh CM said. He said that the Sindh government has announced the Ramazan package of Rs 2 billion to provide relief to people.
The Sindh CM also directed the ministers and advisors along with the officials concerned to visit the commercial centers, markets and bazaars to check the prices of essential items. The District Co-ordination Officers and District Police Officers will also visit the markets with them, he added.
He said that the government will not forgive the profiteers and hoarders at any cost and stern action will be taken against them. He further directed the minister and advisors to conduct surprise visits and raids to commercial centers, godowns and other places to check the illegal hoarding of daily commodities.
Syed Qaim Ali Shah said that special teams of DCOs, EDOs and DDOs are also constituted at all districts in Sindh, which will monitor the prices in their respective districts. Participants of the meeting decided that three teams comprise three ministers and three advisors will check the prices themselves in different areas in the city.
The meeting was also informed that teams have also been formed to check the prices during the holy month of Ramazan in Hyderabad, Sukkur, Larkana, Mirpurkhas and other districts.
