The Karachi Port handled 49,617 tonnes of cargo comprising 40,056 tonnes of import cargo and 9,561 tonnes of export cargo including 2,122 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Thursday. The total import cargo of 40,056 tonnes comprised of 8,124 tonnes of containerised cargo; 4,102 tonnes of bulk cargo: 1,062 tonnes of DAP; 3,040 tonnes of rock phosphate and 27,830 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 9,561 tonnes comprised of 9,402 tonnes of containerised cargo and 159 tonnes of general cargo. Five ships namely President Folk, Hanjin Monaco, Falda, Le Rong and Tai Harmony carrying container ships, oil tanker, general cargo ship and coal carrier respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period. Two vessels viz Hermis and MT Lahore carrying container ship and oil tanker respectively are currently at the berths.
One container ship namely Hermis expected to sail on Thursday, while two ships namely Cap Graham and MT Lahore with container ship and oil tanker respectively are expected to sail on Friday. Seven vessels viz YM Fuzhou, APL Chicago, Kota Akbar, YM Eternity, Genmar Compatriot, EGS Tide and Lilac carrying container ships, mogas ship, DAP carrier and rock phosphote carrier respectively are due to arrive on Friday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 106,422 tonnes, comprising 83,966 tonnes of import cargo and 22,456 tonnes of export cargo inclusive 5,385 loaded & empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during last 24 hours on Thursday.
The total import cargo of 83,966 tonnes includes 15,384 tonnes of furnace oil; 469 tonnes of diesel oil; 8,500 tonnes of palm oil; 15,077 tonnes of canola seeds; 9,900 tonnes of chemicals and 34,636 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo includes 22,456 tonnes of containerised cargo.
A container ship namely CV ACX Rafflesia sailed out to sea on Thursday morning, while two more ships namely CV CMA CGM Puccini and MT Mali Bu are expected to sail on the same day afternoon. A total number of eight vessels CV Sealand Michigan, CV ACX Rafflesia, CV CMA CGM Puccini, MV STX Vivo, MT Bow Lima, MT Mali Bu, MT Sea Sky and Al-Salam-II are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, canola seeds, palm oil, chemicals, furnace oil and diesel oil respectively during last 24 hours.
Five ships namely Nora Maersk, Pisti, Chemroad Journey, Stolt Sun and North Contender with containers, palm oil and chemicals respectively are currently at the outer anchorage. A total number of three vessels viz CV Nora Maersk, CV Pisti and MT North Contender carrying containers and chemicals respectively are expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal respectively on Thursday. Two ships namely CV Dubai Express and MT Stolt Sun with containers and palm oil are due to arrive on Thursday, while three container vessels viz CV MSC Anafi, CV Natalia and CV Hurst Point are due to arrive on Friday.
