The lower demand on the wholesale deeply depicted Ramazan buying was not in full swing or may be even middle class people have been slashing their real needs, thus commodities showed kindly sentiment towards tired buyers.
The opening day saw falling trend without particular reason. Moong from Punjab, low type was down sharply by Rs 150 to Rs 3725 and better type lost Rs 25 to Rs 3875. Urad from Burma conceded Rs 100 to Rs 2750, while the better type was quoted at Rs 2900, sugar lost Rs 100 to Rs 4800, cottonseed oilcake with bag from Sindh rose by Rs 10 to Rs 1060. The next day had no changes without showing any reason.
On Wednesday Ramazan buyers returned to market showing some change of hands. On the grain side gram Australia lost Rs 100 to Rs 3700, while better type was quoted at Rs 3900, gram dal Australia shed same amount to Rs 4100, while the other type was quoted at Rs 4300. Grams 50x50 shed Rs 125 to Rs 3375, while better type was quoted at Rs 3575. Yellow peas Canada rose by Rs 100 to Rs 2700, while better type was quoted at Rs 2850, yellow peas dal Canada rose by Rs 50 to Rs 2960, while the other was quoted at Rs 3100. Dal beetle shed Rs 100 to Rs 4200, while the other variety was quoted at Rs 4400. Bajra low type rose by Rs 25 to Rs 1575 and better type was up by Rs 50 to Rs 2600. On the cereal side barley Sindh and Mardan gained Rs 150 to Rs 2450 while the other type was quoted at Rs 2500, makai lost Rs 50 to Rs 1325, while the other quality was quoted at Rs 1350 and gur lost Rs 100 to Rs 6900.
On Jodia Bazaar Jute goods Twine (per kg) 20x3 brown quoted at Rs 70, 8x3 conceited Rs 2 to Rs 98 and Rs 40x2 brown rose by Rs 2 to Rs 66.
On Thursday commodities showed favourable trend. The wholesalers obviously complaining lower than expected buyers. Others were speaking about the easy going owing to demand and supply in their view being equal. However, gur low type was unchanged, while better type conceded Rs 100 to Rs 6800, Khandsar followed suit as it also lost Rs 100 to Rs 6200. On the cereal side urad Burma low type lost Rs 50 to Rs 2800, while the other type stayed put. Cottonseed oilcake with bag in Sindh shed Rs 40 to Rs 980, while the better type was quoted at Rs 1000, rapeseed Nawabshah low type shed Rs 35 to Rs 1400 and better type was lower by Rs 15 to Rs 1425.
On Jodia Bazaar Kenyan tea was marked lower: (per Kg) PF-1 A grade shed Rs 5 to Rs 320. B grade down same amount to Rs 300. Plus C grade down Rs 5 to Rs 280, while C grade lost Rs 5 to Rs 320, B grade down Rs 10 to Rs 290, and plus C grade shed Rs 20 to Rs 270, D-1 A grade however gained Rs 10 to Rs 320.
On Friday, as usual no transaction took place because of Friday and participants were busy in preparation for Juma prayers.
On Jodia Bazaar plastic moulding compounds closed mixed. The changes were:
PLASTIC MOULDING COMPOUNDS (Per lb): HDPE (FILM):
Saudia 952 edged down by Rs 1.25 to Rs 66, Mobil went lower by Re 1 to Rs 66 and TR144 closed downward by Rs 1.50 to Rs 66.
HDPE (INJECTION): Sabic 200056 went up by Re 1 to Rs 62, Mobil 016 was quoted at Rs 60 and Iran edged down by 25 paisa to Rs 59.25.
HDPE (BLOW): Iran moved upward by Re 1 to Rs 64. LLDPE: W118 ended higher by Rs 2 to Rs 64 and 7087 ended up by Rs 2 to Rs 64 and Sabic 500026 closed upward by Rs 2 to Rs 80.
POLYPROPYLENE (FILM): Thai edged higher by 75 paisa to Rs 58.75, Kuwait closed up by 50 paisa to Rs 58.50 and India went higher by 50 paisa to Rs 58.50. POLYPROPYLENE (TAPE GRADE): India edged up by 50 paisa to Rs 57.50, Kuwait went higher by 50 paisa to Rs 57.50 and Saudia moved upward by 50 paisa to Rs 57.50. POLYPROPYLENE (INJECTION GRADE): Saudia closed higher by 50 paisa to Rs 57, India moved upward by Re 1 to Rs 57 and Kuwait moved up by Re 1 to Rs 57.50.
POLYSTYRENE: Pakistani was quoted at Rs 3,691.
COPOLY: Block closed higher by Re 1 to Rs 67 and Randon moved upward by Rs 2 to Rs 72.
HIGH IMPACT (Per bag): Pakistani was quoted at Rs 3,995.
ABS: Polylac 707 was quoted at Rs 4,350 and Iran ended higher by Rs 450 to Rs 4,100.
On Saturday Jodia Bazaar kirana items moved both ways. The changes were: KIRANA ITEMS (Per 40 kg): White pepper edged higher by Rs 1,400 to Rs 16,800, black pepper Singapore went up by Rs 1,700 to Rs 10,500, black pepper Ceylon ended higher by Rs 1,900 to Rs 10,500, black pepper Brazil finished upward by Rs 1,600 to Rs 11,000, nutmeg edged lower by Rs 530 to Rs 13,800, big cardamom ended up by Rs 2000 to Rs 16,800, cloves moved upward by Rs 1,500 to Rs 17,000, long pepper closed higher by Rs 800 to Rs 9,400, sago ended up by Rs 50 to Rs 9,500, cuminseed finished upward by Rs 500 to Rs 8,500, darchini closed higher by Rs 100 to Rs 4000, haldi was quoted at Rs 3,950, turmeric Pak finished up by Rs 900 to Rs 6,300, and tamarind was quoted at Rs 1,160.
