The profit after tax of National Refinery Limited (NRL) has increased to Rs 1,349.376 million in the quarter ended September 30, 2010, as compared to Rs 677.564 million earned in the corresponding period in 2009. The board of directors of the company in its meeting held here on Wednesday declared that the company's earning per share has increased to Rs 16.87 in the period under review against Rs 8.47 in the same period last year.
According to the financial results sent to Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE), the company's gross sales increased to Rs 41.268 billion in this quarter against Rs 24.809 billion in the same quarter a year back. The trade discount, taxes, duties and levies increased to Rs 7.878 billion against Rs 4.821 billion, while the cost of sales increased to Rs 31.076 billion against Rs 18.747 billion.
The company's profit before taxation increased to Rs 2.166 billion in this quarter against Rs 1.034 billion in the same quarter last year.
