Mustansar Hussain Tarar slams PML-N for violating sanctity of Mazar-e-Quaid
Renowned author, novelist and columnist Mustansar Hussain Tarar has written an open letter condemning Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N)’s act that violated sanctity of Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah’s mausoleum on Sunday.
In the letter, the author strongly condemned retired Captain Safdar, the son in law of PML-N chief Nawaz Shairf, for raising political slogans at the tomb.
He wrote: “I saw Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah’s speech at Islamia College Lahore followed by echoes of ‘Pakistan Zindabad’, and now I saw a disorganised crowd chanting political slogans around his grave led by that zealot.”
“I feel too guilty for being part of the nation, which had desecrated the mausoleum of its father. Is dishonoring father forgivable?" he asked.
Earlier, during their visit to Karachi for Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM)’s rally, Maryam Nawaz along with the senior leadership and a large number of workers paid a visit to Quaid's mausoleum.
As per the tradition, a qari recited verses from the Holy Quran and Maryam and a few others offered fateha inside the grilled premises.
Following that, PML-N workers who were standing outside that iron grill in the hallway, shouted slogans in favour of Maryam.
Capt Safdar signalled them, apparently to stop them from raising that particular slogan at the grave of Quaid-i-Azam, and started chanting ‘vote ko izzat do’ slogan that too was against the protocol of the mausoleum.
