ISLAMABAD: Minister for Information Technology Aminul Haque has expressed the resolve to increase IT exports to US 15 billion dollars from the current $ 2.6 billion in the next few years.
Addressing at a news conference, he said investment in the IT sector will also be increased to $ 10 billion.
The minister said with the military and political leadership on one page, the focus of coalition government is on strengthening the economy, improving employment opportunities, increasing remittances and creating ease of doing business.
He said they have focused on enhancing connectivity, skill development, and investment in the IT sector.
Haque said projects worth Rs 77 billion to improve cyber optic, 3G and 4G network facility, especially in the far-flung areas of the country are underway and will be completed by December this year.
He said 3.3 million freelancers have been imparted skill training.
