BENGALURU: Sri Lankan shares closed lower on Tuesday, dragged by losses in communication services and energy stocks.

The CSE All-Share index settled down 0.93% at 11,510.76.

SMB Finance PLC and Radiant Gems International PLC were the top percentage losers on the CSE All Share, falling 16.7% and 10.2%, respectively.

Trading volume on the CSE All-Share index rose to 29.1 million shares from 12.6 million in the previous session.

Sri Lanka shares end lower as communication stocks weigh

The equity market’s turnover rose to 558.6 million Sri Lankan rupees ($1.9 million) from 376.7 million rupees in the previous session, according to exchange data.

Foreign investors were net sellers, offloading stocks worth 33.7 million rupees, while domestic investors were net buyers, purchasing shares worth 535.5 million rupees, the data showed.
