The PM said he had only directed Memon to investigate the iqama (work permit) case of PML-N's Khawaja Asif.
Why would I order Memon to file a reference when I knew he could not do so against the sitting judge, the PM said.

He secured 16,156 votes while Pakistan Muslim League - Nawaz's Miftah Ismail came in second with 15,473 votes.
The recently banned Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan's candidate Mufti Nazeer Ahmed Kamalvi secured 11,125 votes and came third.

SHC asked to suspend court work, take up only urgent matters as COVID-19 cases surge

"I would, therefore, request and urge if the routine court work is suspended and only matters of urgent nature are fixed for hearing so that the Honorable Judges, learned lawyers, court staff as well as litigants are protected from this pandemic," letter by Murtaza Wahab read.
During the last 24 hours, Sindh reported 727 new coronavirus cases and six fatalities.
