In an alarming rise in HIV related deaths in Larkana district, 48 children have died since 2019

Poor infection control practices (ICP) including reuse of syringes and unscreened blood have lead to the spread of HIV.
The team found out that almost every child who tested positive had also received an injection of some kind in the previous year.
There are an estimated 190,000 HIV-positive people in Pakistan.

Pakistan to open walk-in registration, vaccination for citizens above 65 from April 3

"Senior citizen above 65 years can now walk in to any designated vaccination center with their CNIC to get on spot registration and vaccination, with effect from 3rd April 21," NCOC said.
The vaccination drive to inoculate those 60 and above began on March 10.

SC rejects PTI's appeal, upholds ECP's decision on re-election in entire constituency of NA-75 Daska

Last week, the SC had suspended re-polling on NA-75 Daska scheduled to be held on April 10.
A three-member bench of the apex court headed by Justice Umar Ata Bandial announced the verdict.
In a statement, PTI's candidate said that “We will respect the decision of the court.” He further said, “We are ready to face our opponents again and will defeat them by twice as many votes as before.”

NCOC asks provinces to increase the pace of vaccination to fully utilize available vaccines

"Received 5 lakh 60 thousand procured vaccines yesterday. Another 5 lakhs will arrive tonight," Asad Umar tweeted.
At least 452000 shots of Sinopharm and CanSino vaccine have been provided to Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Islamabad, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan.

"We will be getting bulk vaccine by mid-April from CanSino from which three million vaccine doses can be made," Asad Umar announced.
This is the vaccine in which Pakistan participated in phase 3 trials, which was the first time ever that Pakistan had done so for any vaccine, he added.
