The benchmark palm oil contract for February delivery on the Bursa Malaysia Derivatives Exchange slid 55 ringgit, or 1.65pc, to 3,271 ringgit ($799.56) a tonne by the midday break.

export shipments from Malaysia during Nov. 1-10 fell between 17% and 19%, cargo surveyors said.
The world's top soybean importer brought in 8.69 million tonnes of the oilseed in October, up from 6.18 million tonnes in the same month of the previous year.
"The rest majority are still Brazilian beans, which (crushers) booked very cheap earlier," Xie said.
Edible oil prices in India, the world's biggest importer of vegetable oils, have jumped recently, tracking a rally on foreign markets and after the local soybean crop was damaged by excessive rainfall.
The benchmark palm oil contract for January delivery on the Bursa Malaysia Derivatives Exchange closed down 14 ringgit, or 0.46%, to 3,051 ringgit ($732.88) a tonne.
Indonesia has set crude palm oil export tax at $3 per tonne for November.
The benchmark palm oil contract for December delivery on the Bursa Malaysia Derivatives Exchange closed 15 ringgit, or 0.50pc, lower at 2,988 ringgit ($720.17) a tonne, after rising 0.5pc.
The benchmark palm oil contract for December delivery on the Bursa Malaysia Derivatives Exchange settled up 9 ringgit, or 0.3pc, at 3,003 ringgit ($725.36) a tonne.

Dalian's most-active soyoil contract fell 0.63pc, while its palm oil contract slipped 1.17pc. Soyoil prices on the Chicago Board of Trade were down 0.28pc.
